Mając głębokie poczucie ciążącego na nich uroczystego obowiązku rozwijania dobrotytu[1] ludzkości;	Ayant le sentiment profond du devoir solennel qui leur incombe de développer le bienêtre de l'humanité;	Deeply sensible of their solemn duty to promote the welfare of mankind;
Przekonani, że nadeszła chwila przystąpienia do szczerego wyrzeczenia się wojny jako narzędzia polityki narodowej, dla utrwalenia stosunków pokojowych i przyjaznych istniejących obecnie między ich ludami;	Persuadés que le moment est venu de procéder à une franche renonciation à la guerre comme instrument de politique national afin que les relations pacifiques et amicales existant actuellement entre leurs peuples puissent être perpétuées;	Persuaded that the time has come when a frank renunciation of war as an instrument of national policy should be made to the end that the peaceful and friendly relations now existing between their peoples may be perpetuated;
Przekonani, że do wszelkich zmian w ich wzajemnych stosunkach powinno się dążyć wyłącznie zapomocą środków pokojowych i urzeczywistniać je w porządku i pokoju, oraz że każde Mocarstwo podpisujące, któreby odtąd starało się rozwijać swoje interesy narodowe uciekając się do wojny będzie musiało być pozbawione korzyści traktatu niniejszego;	Convaincus que tous changements dans leurs relations mutuelles ne doivent être recherchés que par des procédés pacifiques et être réalisés dans l'ordre et dans la paix, et que toute Puissance signataire qui chercherait désormais à développer ses intérêts nationaux en recourant à la guerre devra être privée du bénéfice du présent Traité;	Convinced that all changes in their relations with one another should be sought only by pacific means and be the result of a peaceful and orderly process, and that any signatory Power which shall hereafter seek to promote its national interests by resort to war should be denied the benefits furnished by this Treaty;
Mając nadzieję, że, zachęcone ich przykładem, wszystkie inne narody świata przyłączą się do tych wysiłków ogólnoludzkich i przez przystąpienie do Traktatu niniejszego, skoro tylko uzyska on moc obowiązującą, udostępnią swoim ludom korzystanie z jego dobroczynnych postano-	Espérant que, encouragées par leur exemple, toutes les autres nations du monde se joindront à ces efforts humanitaires et, en adhérant au présent Traité dès qu'il entrera en vigueur, mettront leurs peuples à même de profiter de ses bienfaisantes stipulations, unissant ainsi les nations civilisées	Hopeful that, encouraged by their example, all the other nations of the world will join in this humane endeavor and by adhering to the present Treaty as soon as it comes into force bring their peoples within the scope of its beneficent provisions, thus uniting the civilized nations of the world
