Amerykański muzyk i kompozytor, znany z tego, że napisał i skomponował melodię do standardu bożonarodzeniowego, piosenki Jingle Bells (inaczej zwanej: The One Horse Open Sleigh, 1857). Inne jego znane kompozycje to The Returned Californian(1852), The Starlight Serenade, To All the Loved Ones at Home i The Coquette.
